ಕಾರವಾರ : ಕಳೆದ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಉತ್ತರಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕಾರವಾರದಲ್ಲಿನ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡ ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿದಾಡಿದ ಮಂಚದ ಅಸಲಿ ಸತ್ಯ ಇದೀಗ ಬಯಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವೈರಲ್ ಆದ ‘ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಮಂಚ’ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಗತ್ಯ ವಿವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಇದೀಗ ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಪುರಾವೆಗಳು ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಿಂದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ದುರ್ಬಳಕೆ ಆರೋಪ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಅಂದು ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಉಪನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಜಯಂತ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಾಡಲಾದ ಆರೋಪಕ್ಕೆ ಈಗ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿರುವ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟನೆ ನೀಡಿವೆ. ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಯಾವುದೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬುದು ದಾಖಲೆಯಿಂದ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಕಚೇರಿಯನ್ನು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಕಚೇರಿ ಕಟ್ಟಡಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ದಾಖಲೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ನಂತರ ವೈರಲ್ ಆದ ದೃಶ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ ‘ಹಾಸಿಗೆ’ ಭಾಗವನ್ನಷ್ಟೆ ಕಟ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ತಾಲತಾಣದ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಥೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಹರಡಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪು ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಮೂಡಿಸಲು ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು. ಆ ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದ ಎಲ್ಲ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು 2016ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಜಪ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ದಾಖಲೆಗಳಿಂದ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದೆ.

ಆಡಳಿತಾತ್ಮಕ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಉಪ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ಸಂದರ್ಭ, ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಇನ್‌ಚಾರ್ಜ್ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಹಾಯಕ ಆಯುಕ್ತರು ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಇದೇ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಯಂತ ಅವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನ ಕೆಡಿಸಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಉದ್ದೇಶಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಿಸಿದ ಮಂಚದ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಅಷ್ಟನ್ನೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಮಾಜಿ ಜಾಲತಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವೈರಲ್ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಉಪ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರ ವಿರುದ್ದ ಅಪಪ್ರಚಾರ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಈಗಿನ ದಾಖಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬಯಲಾಗಿದೆ‌.

ಜಯಂತ ಅವರು ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿದ್ದ ವೇಳೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕೆಲ ಅಕ್ರಮ ದಂಧೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಡಿವಾಣ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರು ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಸಮಧಾನಗೊಂಡ ಕೆಲ ಗುಂಪುಗಳು ಅವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಷಡ್ಯಂತ್ರ ರೂಪಿಸಿ ಈ ಮಂಚದ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಆಡಳಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಬ್ರೇಕ್ ಹಾಕಲು ನಡೆಸಿದ ತಂತ್ರ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ‌. ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿದಾಡಿದ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಸುದ್ದಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಕಿರುಕುಳಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾದ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಳಸಿಸುವಂತೆ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರಬರೆದ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ್ನ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಮಂಚದ ವಿವಾದದ ಬಳಿಕ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಕಟ್ಟಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಕಚೇರಿಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಅದರ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಕ್ರಮ ಅಥವಾ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ದುರುಪಯೋಗ ನಡೆದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ದೃಢಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಆಧರಿತ ಅನಗತ್ಯ ವಿವಾದವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಯಾವುದೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಕಂಡುಬರಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದೂ ಮೂಲಗಳು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿವೆ.

Tourism Office Cot Controversy: Truth Emerges from Official Records!
Karwar: The real truth behind the cot that was found six months ago in a room adjacent to the District Tourism Department office in Karwar, Uttara Kannada, and widely circulated on social media, has now come to light.

The “cot inside the office” video that went viral on social media had triggered unnecessary controversy within the Tourism Department. Official documents now available clarify the matter, disproving the allegations of misuse of power against the officer involved. Records clearly show that no wrongdoing was found on the part of the then Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Jayant.

When the Tourism Department office was shifted to the Deputy Commissioner’s office building, a complete video recording of all items was made for safety and documentation purposes. However, in the viral video that later circulated, only a clip showing the ‘cot’ was selectively cut and shared on social media, creating a misleading narrative. This misrepresentation led to widespread misunderstanding among the public. Records confirm that the items seen in that room were materials seized by the department back in 2016.

During that period, when Deputy Director Jayant was in Bengaluru on administrative grounds, the charge of the Tourism Department had been temporarily handed over to the Assistant Commissioner. It is now revealed that during this time, with the intention of tarnishing Jayant’s name, the video of the cot was deliberately recorded and circulated on social media to defame him.

It is said that during Jayant’s tenure as Deputy Director, he took strict action against certain illegal activities connected to the district’s tourism sector. This reportedly displeased some groups, who then conspired to halt his honest administration through this cot-video controversy. As a result of the false narrative spread on social media, Jayant faced severe mental harassment and had officially requested to be relieved from his position in the Tourism Department—a request that was subsequently accepted.

After the cot controversy, the Tourism Department office, which had been functioning in the Deputy Commissioner’s building, was shifted back to its earlier location. This once again confirms that no illegal or personal misuse had taken place. Sources clarify that the entire episode was an unnecessary controversy created based on misinformation, and no fault was found with the concerned officer.
