‘ಜನಗಣಮನ’ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ಗೀತೆ .? ಸಂಸದ ಕಾಗೇರಿ ವಿವಾಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ

ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ:  ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಸದ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರ ಹೆಗಡೆ ಕಾಗೇರಿ  ‘ಜನಗಣಮನ’ ಗೀತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿವಾಧ್ಮಕ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಅವರ ಈ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ಇದೀಗ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಹೊನ್ನಾವರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಏಕತಾ ನಡಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಕಾಗೇರಿ ಅವರು ಜನಗಣಮನ ಬ್ರೀಟಿಷರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಲು ರಚಿಸಲಾದ ಗೀತೆ, ವಂದೇ ಮಾತರಂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗೀತೆಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಜನರ ಕೂಗಾಗಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿವಾದಕ್ಕ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ದೇಶದ ಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ವಂದೇ ಮಾತರಂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಶಕ್ತಿಯುತವಾದ ಘೋಷವಾಕ್ಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇಂದು ವಂದೇ ಮಾತರಂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗೀತೆಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಜನರ  ಕೂಗು ಕೇಳಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ಈ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ವಲಯ  ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣದಲ್ಲೂ  ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸ್ಪೀಕರ್ ಹುದ್ದೆ ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಾಜಿ ಆಗಿರುವ ಹಾಲಿ ಸಂಸದರಿಂದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗೀತೆಗೆ ಅವಮಾನ ನಡೆಯಿತೇ?” ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಸಹ ಇದೀಗ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಆತ್ಮನಿರ್ಭರ ಭಾರತ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಏಕತಾ, ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ  ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಕಾಗೇರಿ,
“ದೇಶದ ಏಕತೆ, ಭಾಷಾ-ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಶಕ್ತಿ. ಯುವಕರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಹಿತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬದ್ಧರಾಗಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು, ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಹಾಗೂ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

Speaking at the National Unity Walk held in Honnavar, Kageri stated that Jana Gana Mana was composed to welcome the British, and that there is now a growing public demand for Vande Mataram to be declared the national anthem.

“During the country’s freedom struggle, Vande Mataram served as a powerful slogan. Today, we hear the voice of people demanding that Vande Mataram should be our national anthem,” he expressed. His remarks have triggered widespread debate both in the political arena and on social media. The question being raised now is, “Has the national anthem been disrespected by a current MP who also previously served as Speaker?”

Speaking further on Self-Reliant India, national unity, and Indian culture, Kageri said, “Unity in diversity—linguistic and cultural—is our strength. The youth must dedicate themselves to the nation’s interest,” he urged.

A large number of public representatives, officials, students, and citizens participated in the event.
