ಕಾರವಾರ : ದ್ವೀಚಕ್ರ ವಾಹನ ಸವಾರರು ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿ ಹೆಲ್ಮೇಟ್ ಧರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಜಾಗ್ರತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ವರಿಷ್ಠಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ದೀಪನ್ ಎಮ್.ಎನ್ ಅವರ ನೇತ್ರತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳು ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೈಕ್ ರ್ಯಾಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರವಾರದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ಮೈದಾನದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಗೊಂಡ ಬೈಕ್ ರ್ಯಾಲಿ ನಗರದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ಜಾಗ್ರತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಉತ್ತರಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 2024 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಲ್ಮೆಟ್ ಧರಿಸದೇ ವಾಹನ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಿ ಅಪಘಾತವಾದ 33 ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ 18 ಜನ ಸಾವಿಗಿಡಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 2025 ರಲ್ಲಿ 64 ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದ್ದು 35 ಜನ ಅಸುನಿಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 2023 ರಿಂದ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವೆರೆಗೆ 745 ಮಧ್ಯಪಾನ ಮಾಡಿ ಅತೀ ವೇಗದ ವಾಹನ ಚಾಲನೆ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, 467 ಜನರ ಡ್ರೈವಿಂಗ್ ಲೈಸನ್ಸ್ ರದ್ದು ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಲ್ಮೆಟ್ ಧರಿಸದೆ ಪ್ರಾಣಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯಪಾನ ಮಾಡಿ ಅತೀ ವೇಗದ ವಾಹನ ಚಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಪ್ರಕಣದ ಹಿಚ್ಚಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಜಾಗ್ರತಿ ರ್ಯಾಲಿ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತಾಲೂಕಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಜಾಗ್ರತಿ ರ್ಯಾಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿವುದುಎಂದು ” ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ವರಿಷ್ಠಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ದೀಪನ್ ಎಮ್.ಎನ್ ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
A bike rally was organized in Karwar under the leadership of District Superintendent of Police Deepan M.N. to raise awareness about the importance of wearing helmets for two-wheeler riders.
The rally started from the District Police Grounds in Karwar and passed through the main roads of the city to spread the safety message. In Uttara Kannada district, in 2024, 33 accidents were reported involving riders who did not wear helmets, resulting in 18 deaths. In 2025, there have already been 64 such cases, with 35 fatalities. From 2023 to the present, 745 cases related to drunk and overspeed driving have been recorded, and 467 driving licenses have been suspended.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police Deepan M.N. said, “The number of deaths caused by not wearing helmets and the rise in cases of drunken and high-speed driving are increasing every year. Hence, this awareness rally has been organized. Similar rallies will be held across all taluks in the coming days
