ಶಿರಸಿ : ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅರಣ್ಯ ವಾಸಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಾಗಿ,ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹೋರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ 34ವರ್ಷ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದೆ, ಮೂರು ದಶಕಗಳು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡರು ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿಗಳ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಇಡೇರಿಲ್ಲ, ಸರಕಾರ ಅರಣ್ಯ ವಾಸಿಗಳ ಅರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನ ಪುನರಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸದೆ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ಮೇಲ್ಮನವಿ ಅಭಿಯಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಇಂದು ಚಾಲನೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ.
ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಆದೇಶದಂತೆ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿಗಳ ಅರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನ ಪುನರಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು ಆದರೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಪುನರಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸದ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗ ಮೇಲ್ಮನವಿ ಅಭಿಯಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿಗಳ ಮಹಾ ಸಂಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಇವತ್ತು ಚಾಲನೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ…ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಶಿರಸಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಬೃಹತ್ ಹೋರಾಟ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಚುರೂಕು‌ಮುಟ್ಟಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದಾಜು 25ಸಾವಿರ ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿಗಳು ಭಾಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಸರಕಾರದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಕೂಗಿ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಾಗಿ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು…
ಒಟ್ಟೂ 75ಸಾವಿರ ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿಗಳು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಳೆದ ಮೂರು ದಶಕದಿಂದ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಆದ್ರೆ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿದ್ದರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಫಲ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲ, ಒಂದೊಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಪೂರ್ವಜರು ಸಾವು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪಿಳಿಗೆಯವರು ನಡೆಸುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ..ಈಗ ಮತ್ತೆ ಸರಕಾರದಿಂದ ಲೋಪವಾದ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲ್ಮನವಿ ಅಭಿಯಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿಗಳು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಕಳೆದ ಮೂವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಕಾರದ ಗಮನಸಳೆಯಲು ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ಈಗ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮಹಾಸಂಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿಗಳು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ…
ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿಗಳ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲವಾಗಿದೆ…ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆದಷ್ಟು ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಫಲ ಸಿಗುವಂತಾಗಲಿ…
Sirsi: The forest dwellers of Uttara Kannada district have been fighting for their rights and land titles for the past 34 years. Even after more than three decades of struggle, their demands remain unfulfilled. As the government rejected their applications without a proper re-evaluation, a new appeal campaign has been launched today.According to court orders, the state government was supposed to reconsider the rejected applications of the forest dwellers. However, since that did not happen, the community has initiated a renewed appeal movement and a massive struggle for their rights. In Sirsi, a large-scale protest was organized to put pressure on the government, with an estimated 25,000 forest dwellers participating and raising slogans demanding justice.There are around 75,000 forest dwellers in total who have been fighting for their rights for over three decades. Many of their predecessors, who started this struggle, are no longer alive, yet the younger generations have continued the fight. Following the government’s negligence and failure to act, the residents have again begun the appeal campaign. Over the past 30 years, they have made several efforts to draw the government’s attention, and now they are preparing for yet another major movement.The struggle of the forest dwellers in Uttara Kannada is growing stronger. It is hoped that their long and persistent fight for rights will soon bring them justice.
