ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ : ಮೈಸೂರಿನಿಂದ ಮುರುಡೇಶ್ವರ ಪ್ರವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಬಸ್ ಪಲ್ಪಿಯಾಗಿ ಓರ್ವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ್ದು 40ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಘಟನೆ ಗೇರುಸೊಪ್ಪ ಸುಳೆ ಮುರ್ಕಿ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಬಳಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

ಅಪಘಾತದಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತನೇ ತರಗತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಪವನ್  ಎಂಬಾತ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅಪಘಾತದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡವರು ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಟೀಕೆ ಲೇವೌಟ್ ಸರಳಬಾಳು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದ್ದು ಇವರು ಮೈಸೂರಿನಿಂದ ಮುರುಡೇಶ್ವರ ಪ್ರವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಉತ್ತರಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಗೇರುಸೊಪ್ಪಾ ಸಮೀಪದ ಸುಳೆ ಮೂರ್ಕಿ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಬಳಿ ಚಾಲಕನ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ತಪ್ಪಿ ಬಸ್ ಪಲ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಅಪಘಾತದ ಸುದ್ದಿ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಗಾಯಾಳುಗಳನ್ನ ಸಾಗಿಸು KPC, ಬಂಗಾರಮಕ್ಕಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಅಂಬ್ಯುಲೆನ್ಸ್  ಹಾಗೂ , ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಗಸ್ತುವಾಹನ, 108 ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ, ಕುಮಟಾ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಅಂಬ್ಯುಲೆನ್ಸ್‌   ಮೂಲಕ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡವನ್ನ ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪದೇ ಪದೇ ಅಪಘಾತಗಳು ಸಂಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷವನ್ನೇ ಕಾರಣವೆಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ..

Honnavar: A tragic incident occurred near Gerusoppa Sule Moorki Cross, where a private bus carrying students travelling from Mysuru to Murudeshwar overturned, resulting in the death of one student on the spot and leaving more than 40 students seriously injured.

It is reported that Pavan, a Class 10 student, died at the scene of the accident. The injured students are said to be from T.K. Layout Saralabalu Educational Institution, Mysuru. They were on a trip from Mysuru to Murudeshwar when the bus overturned after the driver allegedly lost control near Sule Moorki Cross in Gerusoppa, under Honnavar taluk of Uttara Kannada district.

Upon receiving information about the accident, local police rushed to the spot. Ambulances from Honnavar and Kumta hospitals, including 108 emergency services and private ambulances, transported the injured to the Honnavar Government Hospital.

Local residents have alleged that negligence by the Highway Department is the primary reason for repeated accidents at this location. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Honnavar Police Station.
