ಕಲಬುರಗಿ: ವಿಜಯಪುರ–ಕಲಬುರಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಭೀಕರ ರಸ್ತೆ ದುರಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಐಎಎಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಮಹಾಂತೇಶ್ ಬಿಳಗಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಮೂವರು ದುರ್ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ದುಗ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಜೇವರ್ಗಿ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಗೌನಹಳ್ಳಿ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಅಪಘಾತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಇನ್ನೋವಾ ಕಾರು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ತಪ್ಪಿ ರಸ್ತೆ ಬದಿಯ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಢಿಕ್ಕಿ ಹೊಡೆದು ಪಲ್ಟಿಯಾದ್ದು, ಮೂವರು ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
2012ರ ಬ್ಯಾಚ್‌ ಐಎಎಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಮಹಾಂತೇಶ್ ಬಿಳಗಿ, ಸರಳ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಮಿನರಲ್ಸ್ ಕಾರ್ಪೊರೇಶನ್ ಲಿಮಿಟೆಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿ, ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಬೆಸ್ಕಾಂನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ ಅವರು, ದಾವಣಗೆರೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಘಟನೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಜೇವರ್ಗಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ತನಿಖೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Kalaburagi: A tragic road accident on the Vijayapura–Kalaburagi route claimed the lives of three people, including IAS officer Mahantesh Bilagi.
The accident occurred near Gounahalli in Jewargi taluk when the Innova car in which they were travelling lost control, rammed into a roadside tree, and overturned. All three occupants died on the spot.
Mahantesh Bilagi, a 2012-batch IAS officer, was known as a sincere and dedicated administrator who rose from a humble background. He had served as the Managing Director of Karnataka State Minerals Corporation Limited (KSMCL) and BESCOM, and had previously worked as the Deputy Commissioner of Davangere district.
Jewargi Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident.
