ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀದಿ ನಾಯಿಯ ದಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಓರ್ವ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ದಾರುಣ ಘಟನೆ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ.
ಕುಂಪಲ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ 60 ವರ್ಷದ ದಯಾನಂದ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಜನಸಂಚಾರ ಇರುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲೇ ರಕ್ತದಿಂದ ಮಡುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶವ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಲೆ ಶಂಕೆ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು. ಮೃತನ ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಭೀರ ಗಾಯಗಳಿದ್ದು, ರಕ್ತದ ಗುರುತುಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಿತ್ತಿರುವುದು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿದು ಬಂದಿದೆ.
ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು 3 ಗಂಟೆಯ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ದಯಾನಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಡೆದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ನೋಡಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಘಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಫಾರೆನ್ಸಿಕ್ ತಜ್ಞರು, ಈ ಸಾವು ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯ ದಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ನಡೆದಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ತಪಾಸಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ನಾಯಿ ಕಡಿತ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಬೀದಿ ನಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಶೆಲ್ಟರ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಹೇಳಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಾಯಿ ಹಾಗೂ ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ತದ ಗುರುತುಗಳಿದ್ದ ನಾಯಿ ಆ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಗುರುವಾರ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಮದ್ಯಪಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ ದಯಾನಂದ ಅವರು NH66 ಕುಂಪಲ ಬೈಪಾಸ್ ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಲಾಂಡ್ರಿ ಅಂಗಡಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದರು. ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಮುಂಜಾನೆಯ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಿ ದಾಳಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ್ದು, ನಂತರದ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಅಂಗಡಿಯ ಬಳಿ ಅವರ ಶವ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಅವರು ಪ್ರತಿರಾತ್ರಿ ಇದೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆಂದು ಹಾಲಿನ ಬೂತ್ ಮಾಲೀಕರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಘಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯಾಸ್ಪದವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡ ನಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಹಿಡಿದು ಶಕ್ತಿನಗರದ ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮೃತನ ರಕ್ತದ ಮಾದರಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಯಿಯ ದೇಹದ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ರಕ್ತದ ಕಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಲ್ಯಾಬ್‌ಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ನಾಯಿಗೆ ರೇಬೀಸ್ ಇದ್ದಿತೇ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಲು ಲ್ಯಾಬ್ ವರದಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕಾನೂನು–ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಡಿಸಿಪಿ ಮಿಥುನ್ ಎಚ್.ಎನ್. ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಉಳ್ಳಾಲ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸ್ವಾಭಾವಿಕ ಸಾವು (UDR)ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ.
Mangaluru: A tragic incident has been reported from Mangaluru in Dakshina Kannada district, where a man lost his life after being attacked by a stray dog.
The deceased has been identified as Dayananda (60), a resident of Kumpala. His body was found in a bloodied condition in a residential area, initially raising fears of murder among locals.
Severe injuries, bloodstains, and damage to one of his eyes were discovered on the body. Locals informed police that they had seen him walking around 3 AM.
Forensic experts later confirmed that the death occurred due to an animal attack.
With dog-bite cases rising nationwide, the Supreme Court has expressed concern and stressed the need to shift stray dogs to proper shelters. Around the same time, residents spotted a dog with blood around its mouth and stains on its body.
On Thursday night, after consuming alcohol, Dayananda was sleeping near a laundry shop close to the NH66 Kumpala bypass. Early Friday morning, the dog is suspected to have attacked him. His body was found outside the shop the following morning. According to a nearby milk booth owner, he usually slept there every night.
Authorities have captured the suspected dog and moved it to an animal care centre in Shaktinagar. Blood samples from the deceased and the stains on the animal have been collected and sent to a laboratory for examination.
