ದಾಂಡೇಲಿ: ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರಾಚ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಿರುವ ಉದ್ವಿಗ್ನತೆಯ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಇಂಧನ ಕೊರತೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಬಹುದು ಎಂಬ ಆತಂಕದಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ದಾಂಡೇಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಬಂಕ್ಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಭಾರೀ ಜನಸಂದಣಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದೆ.
ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಎರಡು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಬಂಕ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನೆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಸಾಲು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಜನರು ಅಗತ್ಯಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಡೀಸೆಲ್ ಖರೀದಿಸಲು ಮುಗಿಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕೆಲವರು ಬಾಟಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ತುಂಬಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಇಂಧನ ಕೊರತೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಬಹುದು ಎಂಬ ವದಂತಿಯಿಂದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಆತಂಕ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಬಂಕ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೂಕುನುಗ್ಗಲು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೂ ದಾಂಡೇಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಧನ ಪೂರೈಕೆ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಕೊರತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಬಂಕ್ ಮಾಲೀಕರು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಧನ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಲಭ್ಯವಿದ್ದರೂ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರಾಚ್ಯದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಆತಂಕದ ವಾತಾವರಣ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರ ಸತ್ಯ.
Dandeli: Panic buying of fuel was witnessed in Dandeli town of Uttara Kannada district following concerns that tensions in the Middle East could lead to a possible fuel shortage.
Long queues of vehicles were seen outside two major petrol pumps in the town since Tuesday night, as people rushed to purchase petrol and diesel in quantities beyond their immediate needs. In several instances, residents were also seen filling petrol in bottles and cans.
The rush was reportedly triggered by rumours of a potential fuel shortage, leading to heavy crowding and chaotic scenes at fuel stations. However, petrol pump owners clarified that there is no shortage of fuel in Dandeli and that supply remains normal.
Despite adequate fuel availability in the district, anxiety among the public appears to have increased due to ongoing developments in the Middle East, resulting in panic buying across parts of the town
