ಕಾರವಾರ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ “ಹೊಸ ಟೂರಿಸಂ ಯೋಜನೆ” ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ವಾಹನವೇ ಮನೆಯ ಕ್ಯಾಬ್..!

ಕಾರವಾರ: ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುವ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಈಗ ತನ್ನದೇ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ..! ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಆಧಾರದ  ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವ ಚಾಲಕ ನೋರ್ವ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯದ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ವಾಹನವನ್ನು ಖಾಸಗಿ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆರೋಪ ಕೇಳಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ..

ರಜೆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ವಾಹನ ಕಚೇರಿಯ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವ  ಬದಲು ಸಂಡೇ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ, ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸಫಾರಿ, ಮನೆಯ ರೇಷನ್ ಖರೀದಿ ಮುಂತಾದ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಮೂಲಗಳಿಂದ ತಿಳಿದು ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಡಿಸಿ ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಪಾರ್ಕಿಂಗ್ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಇದ್ದರೂ, ಚಾಲಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ವಾಹನವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಖಾಸಗಿ ವಾಹನದಂತೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಕಚೇರಿಯಿಂದ‌ 10ರಿಂದ 20 ಕಿಲೋ ಮೀಟರ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರೋ ತನ್ನ  ಬಳಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಇದೀಗ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಇದು ಇಂದು ನಿನ್ನೆಯ ಕಥೆಯಲ್ಲ. ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಈತ ಸರಕಾರದ ಹಣ ದುರ್ಬಳಕೆ‌‌ ಮಾಡೊಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಹಣದಿಂದ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಖಾಸಗಿ ಉದ್ದೇಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಳಸುವುದು ನೈತಿಕತೆಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಿಂದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಸೇವಾ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಎದ್ದುಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಸರಕಾರಿ ವಾಹನ ದುರ್ಬಳಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಚಾಲಕನ‌ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ರಮ‌ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಸರಕಾರದ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಹಣ ದುರ್ಬಳಕೆ ಆಗುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಮಾನವಿಲ್ಲ.ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಕ್ರಮ ತೆಗದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿದ್ದಾರ ಎನ್ನುವುದನ್ನ ಕಾದು ನೋಡಬೇಕು.

Karwar: The Tourism Department, which is supposed to showcase the beauty of the state to the world, now seems to be losing its own sense of discipline and decorum. Allegations have surfaced that a driver working on a contract basis in the department has been misusing a government vehicle for personal purposes beyond his official duties.

Sources reveal that instead of parking the vehicle at the office on holidays, the driver has been using it for private trips — such as visiting Sunday markets, going on family outings, and even buying household groceries. Despite proper parking facilities being available at the DC office, the driver reportedly keeps the government vehicle at his personal residence, located about 10 to 20 kilometers away from the office. This practice, it is said, has been continuing for quite some time.

By doing so, the driver is allegedly misusing government funds, as public property maintained with taxpayer money is being used for private purposes — a clear violation of ethical and official conduct. This misuse reflects a serious breach of government discipline.

If no immediate action is taken against the driver involved in this misuse, there is no doubt that more government funds may continue to be wasted. It now remains to be seen whether the concerned senior officials will take appropriate action.
