ಕುಮಟಾ: ತಾಲೂಕಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀದಿ ನಾಯಿಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅದರ ಉಪಟಳ ಕೂಡ ಜೋರಾಗಿದೆ.ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ವೃದ್ಧರು ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಇಡಲು ಭಯಪಡುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ.
ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಗಂಗಾವಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಂದಿಗೆ ನಾಯಿಗಳು ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದು, ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕರು ನಾಯಿ ದಾಳಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ನಾಯಿಗಳ ಗುಂಪು ಓಣಿ, ರಸ್ತೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ನಡೆದು ಹೋಗುವವರ ಮೇಲಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ವಾಹನಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೋಗುವವರನ್ನೂ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಗಂಗಾವಳಿ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತ ಜನರು ಈಗ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗಲು ಭಯಪಡುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ.
ಮನೆ ಆವರಣದೊಳಗೆ ಬರದಂತೆ ಕೆಲವರು ಮನೆಯ ಸುತ್ತ ಬಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ನಾಯಿಗಳ ಕಾಟದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ನಾಯಿ ಕಾಟ ತಡೆಯುವ ಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅನೇಕರು ನಾಯಿ ದಾಳಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ ಜೀವ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಎದುರಾದರೂ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಯಿಲ್ಲ.
Kumta: Rising Stray Dog Menace Creates Fear Among ResidentsIn recent days, the number of stray dogs across Kumta taluk has increased significantly, causing widespread concern among local residents. The menace has grown to such an extent that children and the elderly are now afraid to step out of their homes.
Just two days ago, more than ten people were reportedly attacked by stray dogs in Gangavalli village. Several victims, including young children, sustained injuries during the attacks. Packs of dogs have been roaming freely on streets and marketplaces, often chasing passersby and even targeting moving vehicles. This has left the villagers living in constant fear, especially during evening hours.
In an attempt to protect themselves, some residents have resorted to fencing their homes to prevent dogs from entering their premises. Villagers are now urging the local Gram Panchayat to take immediate measures to control the growing stray dog population and prevent further incidents..
If swift action is not taken, citizens fear that the situation may worsen, possibly leading to more severe injuries or even loss of life.
