ಕುಮಟಾ: ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಗೋಕರ್ಣದ ಓಂ ಬೀಚ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆಲ್ಫಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ವೇಳೆ ಕಾಲು ಜಾರಿಬಿದ್ದು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಮೂಲದ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗನೊಬ್ಬ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

ಮೃತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಅಸ್ಲಾಂ (45), ವೃತ್ತಿಗೆ ಲಗೇಜ್ ರಿಕ್ಷಾ ಚಾಲಕ. ಇವರು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದಿಂದ ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗೋಕರ್ಣ ಪ್ರವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಕಡಲ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆಲ್ಫಿ ತೆಗೆಯುವ ವೇಳೆ ಆಕಸ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕಾಲು ಜಾರಿ ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದ ಅಸ್ಲಾಂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಲೆಗಳು ಎಳೆದೊಯ್ದು ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಘಟನೆಯ ಸುದ್ದಿ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರ ಸಹಕಾರದಿಂದ ಮೃತದೇಹವನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿ, ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರ ಅಜಾಗರುಕತೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವವರ ಜೀವ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಆತಂಕ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಡಲ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುವ ಸುರಕ್ಷತಾ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು ಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಅಜಾಗುರ್ತೆಯಿಂದ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಜೀವಹಾನಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ವಹಿಸಬೇಕಿದ್ದು, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತವು ಸಹ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿ ತೀರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಜೀವ ರಕ್ಷಕ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಯೋಜಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ.

Kumta: A tragic incident occurred at Om Beach in Gokarna, Uttara Kannada district, where a tourist from Shivamogga slipped while taking a selfie and lost his life.

The deceased has been identified as Aslam (45), a luggage auto driver by profession. He had come on a trip to Gokarna along with ten friends from Shivamogga. While attempting to take a selfie on the beach, Aslam accidentally slipped, fell into the sea, and was swept away by strong waves, resulting in his death.

Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot, and with the help of locals, the body was recovered and shifted to the Primary Health Centre.

Concerns are being raised that tourists’ negligence is leading to frequent loss of lives in the area. Despite safety guidelines being displayed along the beaches, many visitors fail to follow them and behave carelessly, which often results in such tragedies.

Locals have urged that tourists must exercise greater caution, and the district administration should deploy more lifeguards at dangerous beaches to prevent such incidents.
