ಜೋಯಿಡಾ: ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಜೋಯಿಡಾ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಪಣಸೋಲಿ ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ವಲಯದ ಆನೆ ಶಿಬಿರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮುದ್ದುಮುದ್ದಾದ ಗೌರಿ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮರಿ ಆನೆಯು ಕಳೆದ ಕೆಲ ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಫಲಕಾರಿಯಾಗದೇ  ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.

ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ತಿಂಗಳ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಗೌರಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮುದ್ದಿನ ಮರಿಯಾನೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಗೌರಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಲೆಂದು ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆನೆ ಶಿಬಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಗೌರಿಯ ಓಡಾಟವನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದೇ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರಿಗೆ ಸಂತಸ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಈಗ ಗೌರಿಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಟ ನೆನಪು ಮಾತ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇಂದು ಸಂಜೆ  ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌರಿ ಅಂತ್ಯಸಂಸ್ಕಾರ ನೆರವೇರಿತು.

Joida: Gauri, the beloved young female elephant from the Panasoli Elephant Camp in Joida taluk, passed away after battling illness for the past few days. Despite continuous treatment, her condition did not improve, leading to her untimely demise.

Gauri, who was just two years and nine months old, was the star attraction of the camp and was adored by everyone. Tourists from far and wide would visit the camp just to catch a glimpse of her playful antics. Watching Gauri roam around brought immense joy to visitors, making her a favorite among wildlife enthusiasts.

Today evening, Gauri was given a dignified farewell, with her final rites performed in the presence of forest department officials. Her absence leaves behind memories of her playful charm, which will be deeply missed by both locals and tourists.
