ಯಲ್ಲಾಪುರ: ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲಡೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕಂಪು ಹರಡಿದ್ದು, ಯಲ್ಲಾಪುರದ ಕಿರವತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾವುಟ ಅಳವಡಿಸಲು ಯುವತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ರಂಪಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಇದೀಗ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವೈರಲ್ ಆಗಿದೆ.
ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆ ಜಯ ಭಾರತ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯವರು ಕಿರವತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಬಾವುಟ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ, `ತನ್ನ ಅಂಗಡಿಯ ಎದುರು ಬಾವುಟ ಹಚ್ಚಬೇಡಿ’ ಎಂದು ಶ್ರೀಮಾ ಫರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ರಂಪಾಟ ಮಾಡಿದರು. `ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಗಡಿಯ ಬೋರ್ಡ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು. ಬಾವುಟ ಹಚ್ಚಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈವೇಳೆ, ಬಾವುಟ ಹಚ್ಚಲು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಕಲ್ಲಪ್ಪ ಹೋಳಿ, ಮಹೇಶ ದಿಂಡ್ವಾರ್, ಅಹ್ಮದ್ ಕೋಳಿಕೇರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೆಹಬೂಬ್ ಅಲಿ ಬೊಮ್ಮಿಘಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರು `ನಾವು ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾವುಟ ಅಂಟಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ’ ಎಂದರು. `ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾವುಟ ಹಾಕಿದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತು ಬಿಸಾಕುವೆ’ ಎಂದು ಶ್ರೀಮಾ ಫರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದರು.
ಕನ್ನಡ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಲಾಟೆ ನಡೆಸುವುದು ಬೇಡ ಎಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರು ವಾಪಸ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ . ಬಳಿಕ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾವುಟ ಅಳವಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೋರಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಅದೇ ಜಾಗದ ಬಳಿ ತೆರಳಿದ್ದು, ಆಗಲೂ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರನ್ನು ಯುವತಿ ನಿಂದಿಸಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. `ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹ್ಯಾಂಗ್ಯೋ ಕಂಪನಿಯವರ ಬೋರ್ಡ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಏರಿಯಾ ನಂದು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾವುಟ ಹಾಕುವುದು ಬೇಡವೇ ಬೇಡ’ ಎಂದು ಪಟ್ಟು ಹಿಡಿದರು. `ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಂಗಡಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಬೋರ್ಡು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾವುಟ ಹಾಕಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೊಡಿ’ ಎಂದು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಶ್ರೀಮಾ ಫರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ `ದಗಲ್ ಬಾಜಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವವರು’ ಎಂಬ ಪದ ಬಳಸಿ ನಿಂದಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮರಾಠಿ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಕೊಂಕಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಇದೀಗ ವೈರಲ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಖಂಡನೆ ಕೂಡ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಮಾನ ಮಾಡಿದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಡೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಲು ಅನೇಕರು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರ ಮೌನ
ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾವುಟ ಅಳವಡಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸಿ ಯುವತಿ ರಂಪಾಟ ನಡೆಸುವ ವೇಳೆ ಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ತಾಲೂಕು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ವಿಲ್ಸನ್ ಫರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಸಹ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದರು. ಸ್ಕೂಟಿ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಿಕೆವಹಿಸಿ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಆದ ಅಪಮಾನ ತಡೆಯದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನಾಗಿರುವುದು ಹಲವು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಏಡೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ..
Yellapur: On the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava, the Kannada spirit is being celebrated everywhere. Meanwhile, a video of a young woman creating a commotion to stop the hoisting of the Kannada flag at Kiravatti in Yellapur has now gone viral on social media.
As part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations, members of the Jaya Bharata Sangha had planned to hoist the Kannada flag in Kiravatti. However, a woman named Shrima Fernandes objected, saying, “Do not put the flag in front of my shop. I want to put up my shop’s board there. I will not allow the flag to be placed here.”
The activists Kallappa Holi, Mahesh Dindwar, Ahmed Kolikeri, and Mehbub Ali Bommighatti who came to hoist the flag said, “We are placing the Kannada flag on the streetlight pole.” In response, Shrima Fernandes warned, “Even if you put the Kannada flag here, I will tear it down and throw it away.”
People present there advised against creating quarrels during the Kannada festival, so the activists stepped back. Later, when others again approached requesting permission to place the Kannada flag in the same spot, the young woman once again insulted the Kannada activists. She insisted, “The board of Hangyo company is going to be placed here. This area is mine. Do not put the Kannada flag here—absolutely not.”
Even after activists said, “You can place your board on your shop. Allow us to place the flag on the streetlight pole,” she refused to agree.
In the end, she allegedly insulted those working for Kannada by calling them “troublemakers” and verbally abused them in Marathi-mixed Konkani. The video has now gone viral and has sparked outrage. Many are planning protests for the disrespect shown to the Kannada flag and language.
Silence of Jaya Karnataka President Raises Questions
During the incident, Wilson Fernandes, the Taluk President of Jaya Karnataka organization, was reportedly present, sitting on a scooter. He did not intervene or attempt to prevent the insult to Kannada, and his silence has raised several questions.
