ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಗೌರವ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಗೌಡಪ್ಪ

ಕಾರವಾರ : ಮೈಸೂರು ದಸರಾ ಉತ್ಸವದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 26ರಿಂದ 28ರವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆದ ದಸರಾ ಕುಸ್ತಿ  ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಹಳಿಯಾಳ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ದುಸಗಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಪೈಲ್ವಾನ್ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಗೌಡಪ್ಪನವರು 74–86 ಕೆ.ಜಿ. ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಪಡೆದು “ದಸರಾ ಕೇಸರಿ 2025” ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಗೆದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಈ ಕಠಿಣ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ಗೌಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಮೊದಲ  ಸುತ್ತಿನ ಕುಸ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯ ಗಜಾದೇಶ ಅವರನ್ನು 10–0 ಅಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಲಿಸಿದರು. ಎರಡನೇ ಸುತ್ತಿನ ಕುಸ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವಣಗೆರೆಯ ಯೋಗೇಶ್ ಗೌಡ ವಿರುದ್ಧ 10–0 ಅಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಯ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದರು. ಮೂರನೇ ಸುತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ  ಕುಸ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡದ ರಾಮಣ್ಣ ಕಲ್ಗಟ್ಕರ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ 10–0 ಅಂತರದ ಗೆಲುವು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು.

ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ಸುತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಸ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವಣಗೆರೆಯ ದ್ಯಾನೇಶ್ ಗಲಗಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಣಿಸಿದರು. ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ,30 ನಿಮಿಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನಡೆದ ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಫೈನಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರವಾಡದ ಪರಮಾನಂದ ಪೈಲ್ವಾನರನ್ನು 4–2 ಅಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ದಸರಾ ಕೇಸರಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮದಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.

ವಿಜೇತ ಪೈಲ್ವಾನ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಗೌಡಪ್ಪನವರಿಗೆ  ಮಾಜಿ ಪೈಲ್ವಾನರು ಹಾಗೂ ಶಾಸಕ ಆರ್.ವಿ. ದೇಶಪಾಂಡೆ ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Karwar, September 30, 2025 – Dusgi village’s wrestler Manjunath Nagendra Gowdappa from Haliyal taluk, Uttara Kannada, has clinched the coveted title of “Dasara Kesari 2025” after securing first place in the 74–86 kg category at the Dasara Wrestling Tournament held in Mysuru from September 26 to 28.

Over three days of intense bouts, Manjunath displayed outstanding performance. In the opening round, he defeated Belagavi’s Gajadesh with a 10–0 score. He continued his dominance in the second round, overcoming Davanagere’s Yogesh Gowda 10–0. In the third round, he once again secured a clean 10–0 win against Uttara Kannada’s Ramanna Kalgatkar.

In the fourth round, Manjunath overpowered Davanagere’s Dyanesh Galagali by a decisive fall. Finally, in a thrilling 30-minute grand finale, he beat Dharwad’s Parmanand Pailwan with a narrow 4–2 victory to claim the prestigious Dasara Kesari title.

Former wrestler and senior leader R.V. Deshpande congratulated Manjunath Nagendra Gowdappa on his remarkable achievement and extended his best wishes.
