ಗೋಕರ್ಣ: ಪ್ರವಾಸಕ್ಕೆಂದು ಬಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಡಲತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಜಲು ಹೋಗಿ ಅಪಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿದ್ದ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಮೂಲದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರೊಬ್ಬರನ್ನ ಲೈಪ್ ಗಾರ್ಡ್ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಮೂಲದ  ಸರಕಾರಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ 39ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಉತ್ತರಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಗೋಕರ್ಣ ಪ್ರವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಈ ವೇಳೆ  ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಮುಖ್ಯಕಡಲತೀರದ ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಜಲು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ನಾಲ್ವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಅಲೆಗೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿ ಅಪಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಇದನ್ನ ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಲೈಪ್ ಗಾರ್ಡ್ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳು ಸಾಹಸ ಪಟ್ಟು ಅಪಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಲುಕಿದ ನಾಲ್ವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ‌ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಿಯಾಜ್ ಅಹಮದ್ (15), ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಜಿಲಾಲ್ (15), ಆಕಾಶ್ (15) ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಶಾಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರೊಬ್ಬರು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಅಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರು.

ದರ್ಶನ್ ಹರಿಕಾಂತ್ (ಜಸ್ಕಿ ಡ್ರೈವರ್), ಚಿದಾನಂದ ಲಕ್ಕುಮನೆ, ದೀಪಕ್ ಗೌಡ, ಅಶೋಕ್ ಹರಿಕಾಂತ್, ಮಹೇಶ್ ಹರಿಕಂತ್ರ, ಜಗ್ಗು ಹರಿಕಂತ್ರ, ಕಮಲಾಕರ ಹೊಸ್ಕಟ್ಟ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಗೋಕರ್ಣ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ..

Students and Teacher Rescued
Gokarna: A major mishap was averted at the main Gokarna beach when lifeguards rescued students and a teacher from Shivamogga who were swept away by strong waves while swimming during a trip.

A group of 39 students from a Government High School in Shivamogga had come on a tour to Gokarna. Some of the students entered the sea at the main beach to swim. During this time, four students were caught in strong waves and began to drown. Lifeguard personnel, who noticed the situation, acted swiftly and rescued all four students from the dangerous currents.

Those who were swept away included Niyaz Ahmed (15), Mohammad Jilal (15), Akash (15) and a school teacher.

Lifeguard staff Mohan Ambiga and Roshan Kharvi, along with Gokarna Main Beach water sports personnel — Darshan Harikanth (Jetski driver), Chidanand Lakkumane, Deepak Gowda, Ashok Harikanth, Mahesh Harikantra, Jaggu Harikantra, and Kamalakar Hoskatt — played a major role in the rescue operation.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Gokarna Police Station.
