ಅಂಕೋಲಾ: ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ–ಅಂಕೋಲಾ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ 63ರಲ್ಲು ಕಂಚಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಬಳಿ ಮಿಥೇನಾಲ್ ಸಾಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಟ್ಯಾಂಕರ್ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ತಪ್ಪಿ ಪಲ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

ಮುಂಬೈದಿಂದ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಉಡುಪಿಗೆ ತೆರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಟ್ಯಾಂಕರ್ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಬದಿ ಪಲ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕ ಅನಿಲ ಸೋರಿಕೆಯ ಶಂಕೆಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕವಾಗಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ವಾಹನ ಸವಾರರಿಗೂ ಕೂಡಾ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು, ಸದ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚಾರ ನಿಷೇಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ದಳ, ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಆಡಳಿತ ತಂಡ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ತರಲು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಟ್ಯಾಂಕರ್ ಪಲ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತುರ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಾ ತಜ್ಞರ ತಂಡ ಆಗಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಸದ್ಯ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಸೋರಿಕೆ ಆಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮುಂಜಾಗ್ರತೆ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಗಾ ವಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Methanol Tanker Overturns on National Highway; Public Alarmed
Ankola: A methanol-laden tanker overturned after losing control near Kanchina Bagilu on National Highway 63 connecting Hubballi and Ankola.

The tanker, which was on its way from Mumbai to Udupi via Hubballi, toppled on the roadside. Fearing a possible chemical gas leak, nearby residents were temporary evacuated to safer locations. Police have also issued warnings to motorists, and traffic movement on the highway has been halted for the time being.

Fire and emergency services, police personnel, and local administration teams rushed to the spot and initiated measures to bring the situation under control.

A specialized emergency response team is on its way to the accident site. Authorities have clarified that no leakage has been detected so far. As a precautionary measure, continuous monitoring of the area is underway.
