ಭಟ್ಕಳ: ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಚಾಲನೆಯ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಭಟ್ಕಳದ ಚಾಲಕ ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ಎಲ್. ನಾಯ್ಕ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಾಯವ್ಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಸ್ತೆ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ (ವಾ.ಕ.ರ.ಸಾ.ಸಂ) ವತಿಯಿಂದ 2022–23ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ “ಸುರಕ್ಷಾ ಚಾಲಕ” ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಪದಕ ಗೌರವ ಕ್ಕೆ
ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶಿರಸಿ ಘಟಕದ ಭಟ್ಕಳ ಡಿಪೋಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ನಾಯ್ಕ ಅವರು ಭಟ್ಕಳ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ತಲಾನ ಕಸಲಗದ್ದೆ ನವರು ಆಗಿದ್ದು ಇವರು ಕಳೆದ ಐದು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಪಘಾತವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿರಂತರ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಳೆಗಾಲದ ರಾತ್ರಿ, ಕಷ್ಟದ ಹಾದಿ, ದಟ್ಟ ಸಂಚಾರ—ಯಾವ ಸವಾಲಿನಲ್ಲೂ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸರಿಯದೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಗಮ್ಯಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಈ ಗೌರವಕ್ಕೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.

ನಾಳೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿರುವ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ–ಧಾರವಾಡದ ನೂತನ ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ವೇಳೆ ಈ ಪದಕ ಪ್ರದಾನ ನಡೆಯಲಿದ್ದು, ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸಚಿವ ರಾಮಲಿಂಗಾರೆಡ್ಡಿ, ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಲ್ಹಾದ ಜೋಶಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿರಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ನಾಯ್ಕರ ಈ ಸಾಧನೆ ಭಟ್ಕಳ ಡಿಪೋಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಇಡೀ ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯ ಕಿರಣವಾಗಿದೆ.

Bhatkal: Ramachandra L. Naik, a bus driver from Bhatkal known for his model safe driving, has been selected for the “Safe Driver” Silver Medal Award for the year 2022–23 by the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC).

Ramachandra Naik, who hails from Talana, Kasalagadde in Bhatkal taluk and serves under the Bhatkal Depot of the Sirsi Division, has been driving for the past five years without a single accident. Be it rainy nights, difficult ghat roads, or heavy traffic—he has consistently ensured that passengers reach their destinations safely, without compromising on responsibility and discipline. Recognizing this dedication, the corporation has chosen him for the honor.

The medal will be awarded tomorrow during the inauguration ceremony of the newly built Hubballi–Dharwad bus stations, in the presence of Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, and other dignitaries.

Ramachandra Naik’s achievement has brought pride not only to the Bhatkal Depot but also to the entire North Kannada district’s transport workforce, serving as an inspiration to many.
