ಮಾಡದಂತೆ ಕಾರವಾರ ನಗರಸಭೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಾಕೀತು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀದಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ರಸ್ತೆ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಳ್ಳು ಗಾಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು, ರಸ್ತೆ ಬದಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ವೇಳೆ ಹಣ್ಣು ಮತ್ತು ತರಕಾರಿ ಮಾರುವ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ನಡುವೆ ಜಗಳವೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತು. ಈ ಘಟನೆ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಗದ್ದಲ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿತು.
ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಸ್ಥಳ ಒದಗಿಸುವಂತೆ ನಗರಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Karwar: Street vendors in Karwar staged a protest today after the City Municipal Council officials strictly instructed them not to sell flowers and fruits along the roadside starting from today.
In protest, the vendors parked their pushcarts in the middle of the road, demanding that they be allowed to continue their business on the roadside. The protest turned tense when a quarrel broke out among women vendors selling fruits and vegetables, leading to chaos at the spot.
The vendors have urged the municipal authorities to provide them with a permanent marketplace to carry out their business.
