ಹಳಿಯಾಳ : ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಿಗೆ ಸೀಮಂತ (ಕುಪ್ಪಸ) ಮಾಡುವ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ. ಆದರೇ, ಹಳಿಯಾಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಪ್ರೇಮಾ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಭು ಶಿಗ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆ ಸಾಕು ನಾಯಿ ‘ಸೋನಿ‘ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮಂತ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮನೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಸಂದೇಶ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳು ನಡೆಯಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿವೆ. ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ನ ಕೆಲವು ತೀರ್ಪುಗಳು ನಾಯಿ ಪ್ರೇಮಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬೀದಿಗಿಳಿದು ಹೋರಾಟ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಡಾಗ್ ಲವರ್ಸ್‌ ಮತ್ತು ಡಾಗ್ ಹೇಟರ್ಸ್ ನಡುವೆ ಶೀತಲ ಸಮರಕ್ಕೂ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೇ ಇದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಾಕು ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳಂತೆ ಸಾಕುವವರು ಕೂಡ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಶ್ವಾನಗಳು ನೀಡುವ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯು ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತೆ.
ಪ್ರಭು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೇಮಾ ದಂಪತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲ ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಸಿ ತಳಿಯ ಶ್ವಾನವನ್ನೇ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಗಳಂತೆ ಸಾಕಿದ್ದು ಸದ್ಯ ಸೋನಿ ಈ ಮನೆಯ ಮುದ್ದಿನ ಮಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದು ಒಂದುವರೆ ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನವಳಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಕೆಲವೆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಜನ್ಮ ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಸೋನಿಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಭಾವಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರುಹೋದ ಶಿಗ್ಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬವು ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಸಾಕು ನಾಯಿಗೆ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕವಾಗಿ ಸೀಮಂತ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನೆರವೆರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಂತೆ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಸೀರೆ ಉಡಿಸಿ, ಕುಪ್ಪಸ, ಬಂಗಾರ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, ದಂಡಿ, ಹಾರ, ಹಣ್ಣು ಹಂಪಲು, ಸಿಹಿ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಮಂಗಲ ದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸೋನಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುತೈದೆಯರು ಶ್ವಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಆರತಿ ಬೆಳಗಿದರು. ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದುವರೆ ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಸೀಮಂತ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ವಾನ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಶಾಂತ ಸ್ವಭಾವದಿಂದ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯಿತು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀನಿಕಾ ಪೂಜಾರ, ಶಾರದಾ ಕುಂಬಾರ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾಯಿಣಿ ಕಳ್ಳಿಮನಿ, ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಮೇಲಿನಮನಿ, ದೇವಕ್ಕಾ ಪೂಜಾರ, ಚಿಂತನ ಮೇಲಿನಮನೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರು.
Haliyala: The tradition of conducting a baby shower (Seemantha/Kuupasa) for pregnant women is common. However, residents of Haliyala town, Prema and Prabhu Shigli, have sent a loving message of treating animals like their own children by performing a traditional baby shower for their pet dog ‘Soni’, who is pregnant for the first time.
In recent days, discussions about dogs have intensified across the country. Certain Supreme Court judgments have pushed dog lovers onto the streets in protest, creating a cold war between dog lovers and dog haters. Yet, beyond all this, there are people who raise their pets like their own children — this is equally true. The love dogs offer is indeed beautiful.
Prabhu and Prema do not have daughters, so they have raised their native-breed dog like their own daughter. Currently, Soni is the beloved girl of this household, around one and a half years old, and pregnant for the first time. She is expected to deliver puppies soon. Mesmerized by Soni’s affection and nature, the Shigli family conducted a traditional baby shower ceremony for their loving pet dog on Friday night.
As per the tradition, the family dressed Soni in a saree and offered ceremonial items such as bangles, gold, silver ornaments, garlands, fruits, sweets, and other auspicious materials. Women performed Arati for the dog. The ceremony, which lasted for nearly one and a half hours, drew attention as Soni calmly sat throughout the rituals.
