ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು/ಕಾರವಾರ: ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ 4th Mini Karnataka Games 2025 (Mini Olympic) ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕಾರವಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ಅಥ್ಲೀಟ್ ಪೂರ್ವಿ ತಾರಾನಾಥ ಹರಿಕಂತ್ರ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಮೂಡಿಗೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
14 ವರ್ಷದ ಬಾಲಕಿಯರ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ 200 ಮೀಟರ್ ಓಟದಲ್ಲಿ 26.27 ಸೆಕೆಂಡ್ ಹಾಗೂ 400 ಮೀಟರ್ ಓಟದಲ್ಲಿ 1:00.47 ಸೆಕೆಂಡ್ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರಿಯೇರಿಕೊಂಡು ಎರಡೂ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಗಳಿಸಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕ ಟ್ರೋಫಿ ತನ್ನದಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
ಪೂರ್ವಿ ಕಾರವಾರದ ಬಾಲಮಂದಿರ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವೂ ಮಾಲಾದೇವಿ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ತೋರಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಪೂರ್ವಿಯ ಸಾಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಥ್ಲೆಟಿಕ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸದಾನಂದ ನಾಯ್ಕ್, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಕೆ. ಆರ್. ನಾಯ್ಕ್, ಇವಳ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೋಚ್ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರೇವಣಕರ್, ಶಾಲೆಯ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ವೃಂದ, ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡದಿಂದ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹೊಸ ಅಥ್ಲೆಟಿಕ್ ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಪೂರ್ವಿ ಪಾತ್ರಳಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈಸೋಣ
Gold Medal for Karwar’s Poorvi Harikantra in Mini Olympics
Bengaluru/Karwar: At the ongoing 4th Mini Karnataka Games 2025 (Mini Olympic) held in Bengaluru, young and talented athlete Poorvi Taranath Harikantra from Karwar, Uttara Kannada, has showcased an outstanding performance and secured first place.
In the 14-year girls’ category, Poorvi clocked 26.27 seconds in the 200 meters and 1:00.47 minutes in the 400 meters, winning first place in both events and proudly claiming two gold medals at the state-level competition.
Poorvi is currently studying at Balmandir School in Karwar. She has been consistently training every day at the Maladevi Stadium, where she has sharpened her athletic skills and displayed remarkable talent.
Her achievement has been appreciated and congratulated by Uttara Kannada Athletic Association President Sadanand Naik, Secretary K.R. Naik, her mentor and coach Prakash Revankar, the School Management, Teachers, and sports enthusiasts from across the district.
Poorvi is now being recognized as a rising athletic star emerging from Uttara Kannada. We wish her continued success in achieving greater heights at state, national, and international sports competitions in the coming days.
