ಕಾರವಾರ: ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕಾರವಾರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಕದ್ರಾ ವಲಯದ ಬೋರೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿರತೆಯೊಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಎಮ್ಮೆ ಕರುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಎಮ್ಮೆ ಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮಾಲೀಕರು ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಎರಡು ಕರುಗಳು ರಕ್ತದ ಮಡಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದೆ. ಒಂದು ಕರುವಿನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನ ಚಿರತೆ ಹರಿದು ಛೀಧ್ರಮಾಡಿದೆ.

ಘಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಾತ್ರಿಯ ವೇಳೆ ಚಿರತೆ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆದಿರುವುದು ದೃಢಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಈ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಚಿರತೆಯ ಓಡಾಟ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಜನರು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಇರುವಂತೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಚಿರತೆಯು ವಸತಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಲ್ಲಿ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ..

ಮೃತ ಕರುಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಇಲಾಖೆ ವರದಿ ತಯಾರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಪಶು ಮಾಲೀಕರಿಗೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಪರಿಹಾರ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Karwar: A leopard attack has been reported in Bore village of Kadra range, Karwar taluk, Uttara Kannada district.

According to sources, a leopard entered a cattle shed late at night and attacked the calves tied inside. The shed had three calves, and when the owner checked in the morning, two were found lying dead in a pool of blood. The leopard had ripped open the stomach of one of the calves.

Forest department officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection, confirming that the attack occurred during the night. It has been reported that leopard movement in this area has increased recently. Authorities have urged local residents to remain cautious and immediately inform the forest department if a leopard is sighted in residential areas.

Officials added that a report is being prepared regarding the death of the calves, and compensation will be provided to the cattle owner by the government
